Dr. ShawDr. Travis Shaw was born in Richmond while his father was a student at the Medical College of Virginia. He spent an active youth on the Peninsula in Newport News and Williamsburg. He obtained his BA in East Asian studies from Washington and Lee University, and then spent two and a half years teaching English in Japan before pursing graduate studies at the University of Virginia.

During his second year as a medical student at the Medical College of Virginia, Dr. Shaw traveled with his father Dr. James Shaw, Jr. to Kijabe Mission Hospital in Kenya. Inspired by the needs of the many patients seen with facial deformities, he chose to specialize in ENT and facial plastic surgery. Dr. Shaw also completed his residency at the Medical College of Virginia. Medical care for the uninsured, charity and medical missions remain a central tenant to Dr Shaw’s practice, in large part due to the inspiration provided by his father’s free medical clinic in Yorktown, Va. Dr Shaw has also traveled to Belize with the International Hospital for Children, providing surgical care to patients with cleft lip and palate and deformities of the ear.

Dr. Shaw's areas of special interest include non invasive cosmetic procedures, cosmetic injectables, reconstructive surgery of the face, skin cancer surgery, and rhinoplasty. Dr Shaw is board certified in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Shaw and his wife, Jennie, are enjoying the challenges of being new parents with their daughter Avery. Outside of work Dr. Shaw is an avid cyclist, and enjoys fly fishing, cooking, photography and music.
