Tattoo removal works by targeting the color/pigment in the tattoo and breaking them into fragments. The fragments are then absorbed and removed through the body’s natural cleaning system. This process takes a few weeks and larger or heavier inked tattoos may take more than one treatment. Laser tattoo removal is safer than other more damaging methods (surgical excision, sanding, or chemical peels), non-invasive, and only targets the ink used in the tattoo process.
We are dedicated to using the latest in laser technology for tattoo removal. Unwanted tattoos are removed by breaking up the pigment colors of the tattoo with a high-intensity light beam. The ink pigment is then naturally absorbed by the body, causing a gradual and complete fading of the tattoo. The pigment will never return after it is removed. Depending on the colors and complexity of your tattoo, you may need anywhere from 1-10 laser sessions spaced about six to eight weeks apart. Each treatment takes only a few minutes to complete, and is generally less painful than having a tattoo placed. Many patients compare the feeling of the laser to the snap of a rubber band. For patients with a low pain tolerance, we are able to offer sedation to help make you comfortable.
